I know that football season just started and everybody (including me) is really excited about that, but in a week leading up to a game where we should win by a huge margin (v. Ohio University), I'm wondering if anybody knows anything about our incoming freshman players on the basketball team?  I've been hearing good things about Jeff Allen, Malcolm Delaney, and Hank Thorns, but there isn't a ton of recruiting information available for any of them.  Hank Thorns was a two-time first-team player for the state of Nevada at PG and looks great from the limited video I've seen of him.  He averaged around 27 points, 6.5 assists, and an incredible 12.5 rebounds per game (despite being 5'9").  So why wasn't he recruited by anybody?  Kentucky tried to get into the mix just before VT signed him, but it was too late, and even VT didn't start looking at him until they lost Augustus Gilchrist's commitment.  He's listed as a 3-star prospect, but seems like he should be at least 4 stars given his merits.
